Front Office/Sales Manager

The Quality Inn Downtown Inner Harbour seeks an enthusiastic individual who is passionate about customer service and looking for the next step in their career to lead our front desk team. Our ideal candidate has a proven track record for guest service excellent, past supervisory experience and is a problem solver.  The core focus of the Front Office Manager will be to oversee all front desk and night audit activities as well as assist with catering and sales activities. Please note that the FOM does require a flexible schedule that involves weekends, evening and holidays.
 
Responsibilities:
  •  Responsible for the day to day operations of the Front Office and overall supervision of all front office team members.
  • Lead, motivate, train, and monitor performance of team members.  Continuously strive for an engaged, enthusiastic, high performing team by enabling all team members to realize their full potential.   Foster and encourage an environment of proactively anticipating and exceeding guest expectations.
  • Responsible for providing timely feedback and performance reviews of Guest Services Agents.
  • Monitor and encourage upsell initiatives.
  • Maintain effective training programs for front office team members, using Choice Hotel standards for training.  Identify areas of training for specific team members on a monthly basis.
  • Act as the communication link between Front Office and Housekeeping, and Maintenance.
  • Ensure courtesy calls are being made for the purpose of identifying potential complaints from the guests after they check-in and providing an exceptional guest experience.
  • Ensure consistent delivery of benefits to Choice Privilege members by monitoring room assignments, recognition etc.
  • Ensure F&B operations in the evening are adhering to required standards.  Communicate issues to the General Manager.
  • Respond to group sales and catering inquiries.
  • Assist with AR invoicing in a timely manner.
  • Continually monitor and evaluate the public areas of the hotel (eg. Lobby, washrooms, pool, etc.).   Use a follow-up approach when identifying cleanliness, maintenance, or service issues with the respective departments.
  • Perform collateral duties assigned by the General Manager in a timely manner.
  • Control expenses in the Front Office operation.  Recommend any expense saving measures to the General Manager where possible.
  • Respond to Guest Assistance/Customer Care in a timely manner.
  • Ensure Workplace Health and Safety is actively practiced in the department
  • Be alert on Hotel Security, guest safety and security.  Ensure all GSA’s are familiar with fire emergency safety procedures.
  • Liaison with the General Manager on maintaining positive visibility on social media, maintaining rates on extranets and responding to guest responses as directed by the General Manager.
 
Job Requirements: Qualifications:
  •  Minimum of 2 years leadership experience at the Front Desk
  •  Passion for guest service
  •  Excellent interpersonal skills
  •  Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  •  Excellent time management skills
  •  Highly organized, results-oriented with the ability to be flexible and work well under pressure
  •  College/University degree in related discipline an asset
  •  Knowledge of Choice Property Management/ Choice Advantage, Word, Excel an asset
  • A resourceful personality
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate colleagues
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays

Part Time Housekeeper

The Quality Inn Downtown is currently hiring a part time housekeeper. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, cleaning guest rooms while adhering to hotel cleanliness policies. Previous cleaning experience is considered an asset.
